Sometimes the nail will go too far into the shingle, thus not properly holding the shingle to the decking. Often times, these nails will actually penetrate all the way through the decking and be visible in your attic. With a hole all the way through the decking, guess what will eventually happen? You guessed it - ROOF LEAKS!
We prefer to focus on QUALITY rather than speed! By hand nailing each shingle, we can make sure that the shingle is properly seated to the decking.
